What’s the Impossible List?

The Impossible List is a list of very audacious goals that I never could imagine myself accomplishing, yet I strive to do just that. This was not my original idea! I owe the credit to Thomas Frank who I discovered it through, but he was inspired by Joel Runyon who explains what the Impossible List is:

The impossible list is NOT a bucket list. Not too long ago, I used to settle for the possible things in life. The sure thing. It was “realistic”, “safe” and boring as hell. I decided I needed a challenge.

The impossible list is that challenge. This list of impossible things contains all the things I ever thought I couldn’t do because it was “impossible.” The sort of things that I assumed the cool guys on TV only ever got to do. The things I never thought that would be able to do.

Alright, on with my Impossible List. This is certainly not finished and never will be, but it’s a start:

  • Live off the land — no cell phone, no Internet, no technology — for an entire month
  • Create and run an exotic animal/wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center
  • Mountain bike in every state
  • Chill with Big Cats (e.g. Lions, Tigers, Ligers)
  • Go Ziplining in tropical areas
  • Get scuba certified and dive in the ocean
  • Kayak by a glacier
  • Go to the Amazon
  • Road trip through Canada to Alaska
  • Ride horseback through the mountains
  • Backpack through Europe
  • Drive along the whole West Coast
  • Climb down the Grand Canyon
  • Go to the Galapagos Islands
  • Have a full-fledge epic Nerf gun battle
  • Build a house on some land
  • Rescue a dog
  • Become fluent in Spanish
  • Go base jumping
  • Climb a mountain
